What kind of products work with TwonkyBeam?TwonkyBeam works with a wide range of popular devices including Internet-ready TVs, networked stereo receivers, mobile phones, wireless music players, digital photo frames, digital media adapters and PCs running Windows® 7 or TwonkyManager.
What do I need to use TwonkyBeam?
TwonkyBeam works with Internet Explorer® or the Firefox® web browsers. All you need to use TwonkyBeam is a digital media renderer (DMR) connected to your network. A digital media renderer (or DMR) is just a fancy name for a networked media player that can be externally controlled. Many DMRs are also DLNA-certified.

No. TwonkyBeam only works with DLNA-certified products that can be externally controlled.

Can I use TwonkyBeam if I don't have a DMR?
Yes. You can use TwonkyManager as a DMR. We offer a 30-day trial of TwonkyManager software. Download and install it on any networked PC in your home. Then, launch TwonkyBeam and TwonkyManager will appear in the Devices window as a media player.
Why can't I get my Samsung TV to work with Twonky software?
First, confirm that your Samsung TV works with Twonky software. You can view a list of Samsung TVs that work with Twonky software here.
Samsung's 2009 TVs can be externally controlled without any changes to the settings. Samsung TVs from 2010 sometimes need to have the following settings changed before they can be controlled using Twonky software:
Use your Samsung handheld remote to navigate here:
Menu > Application > Content View > AllShare and then press ENTER.
Make sure "Media" is set to "On" by pressing the ENTER key.
A warning may appear informing you that media sent from a mobile phone or other device will be displayed on your TV. Press "Allow" to allow media to be sent. Please refer to the User's Guide that came with your TV for more information on this.
